Best season: spring. Spring offers the most comfortable weather (typically daytime highs around 60–80°F / 15–27°C and nights 30–50°F / -1–10°C) and the best overall access to Rabbit Valley's trails and viewpoints. Trails and singletrack are in great shape for hiking and mountain biking, wildflowers and migratory bird activity peak, and the dry air produces some of the clearest night skies for stargazing. Expect weekends to be busiest (the campground has only eight sites), but weekday visits are quiet and ideal for a Peak months: May, April, October, September Avoid: July, August

Jouflas Campground, located in the Rabbit Valley Motorized Area within the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area, provides basic camping amenities. The campground features 8-14 sites (the source contains conflicting information) equipped with picnic tables and fire grates. There is a toilet facility available, but it is non-flush. Campers are required to pack out all their garbage as no trash facilities are provided. The access road is a loop and does not accommodate vehicles longer than 30 feet. Reservations are required, and the stay limit is 7 days.
