Best season: fall. Fall offers crisp, stable weather and the best combination of solitude, horseback riding, and shoreline access — days are typically cool and sunny (roughly 50–70°F) with frosty nights (mid-20s to mid-30s°F). Late summer runoff has subsided so trails are firm, reservoir levels are steady for fishing and boating, and meadows and aspen pockets put on their best color. Crowd levels are low compared with peak summer weekends, making it ideal for long rides, quiet hikes on the PCT, and wildlife-viewal Peak months: September, October, August Avoid: November, December, January, February
Fall described as best conditions: cool sunny days and firm trails; peak season Aug–Oct.

Little Lasier Meadows Campground is equipped with amenities that cater specifically to equestrian campers. "The campground offers equestrian sites for campers with horses. Sites are equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings and hitching racks. A shared horse corral is on-site. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided." User feedback highlights the central water pump as a workout to use and vault toilets being less convenient compared to flush toilets. "The only downsides are the bathrooms have no flushing toilets & one water faucet that you have to pump in order to get water out of, kind of like the old western days."
