Trailers over 24 feet won't fit, and the twisty road from Stonyford is genuinely white-knuckle. No hookups, no showers, spotty to zero cell service, and no reservations mean you could drive 17 miles up a mountain hairpin to find it full.

One mile north of Letts Lake. OHV trail leading in and out of campground. Recently renovated with new tables, fire rings and barrier system.

The elevation is 4,200 ft. The campground, an overflow for Letts Lake campground, is a single loop through a stand of mature Ponderosa pine, other conifers, and Manzanita. With campsites being close to each other and little understory, there is little privacy. However, there is lots of shade, but nearby marshy area suggests insect repellent may be necessary.

Water-based activities (swimming, shore fishing) and trail riding are at their peak once spring runoff subsides and routes dry out.
