<p>Soldier Meadows is a developed campground with 15 designated sites. A maximum of 8 people is allowed per site. Located in a picturesque meadow near Soldier Creek, the campground is surrounded by a pine and fir forest. Grills and tables are provided.</p>
The elevation is 4,700 ft. The campground is a single large loop in a sparse stand of Douglas fir next to Soldier Creek. The campsites are scattered providing a dispersed, wilderness feel. Since the parking aprons are not designated, the campground would be good for group gatherings and a "circle-the-wagons" camping experience.
Open Memorial Day through second weekend in October - weather dependent
The parking aprons are irregular, informal dirt and grass. The campground will accommodate any size RV.
From Chester, CA, take State Rt. 36/89 west 1.2 miles to a "T" intersection. Turn left, following Rt. 89, and go 4.2 miles Humboldt/Humboldt Rd. Turn right onto Humboldt/Humboldt Rd. (gravel) and go 0.5 miles to a "Y" intersection. Bear right and go 3.7 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign and go 1 mile to campground on left.

Summer offers the most reliably pleasant conditions for camping at ~4,754 ft — expect warm, sunny days (mid-60s to mid-80s °F) and cool nights (mid-30s to low-50s °F), ideal for sitting by the creek, hiking the meadow edges, and stargazing. The meadow and creek are at their most accessible and dry-trail friendly, making the 15 developed sites comfortable for families and small groups; bugs can be present early in the season but generally taper later in July–August. Campsite use is higher in July Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: December, January, February
