Go if

Bass and trout anglers or boaters who don't mind hauling gear to the water (no on-site ramp) will get the most from this spot. The 4-mile Lakeshore Trail adds a solid hiking option, and the open oak terrain suits campers who prefer sky over canopy.

Skip if

No potable water on-site is a hard stop for anyone unprepared to haul it in. The exposed, low-shade sites also make summer afternoons genuinely hot at 85-95°F, and aircraft noise from the adjacent Gravelly Valley Airstrip carries across the open layout.

About the campground

This campground is a single loop between Oak Flat and Pogie Point campgrounds and at the end of the occasionally used Gravelly Valley Air Strip. It is a sunny campground with a little shade provided by a scattering of California oaks. Not as well used as other campgrounds around Pillsbury lake, it is a quiet campground with open campsites.
