Summer offers the best combination of reliable access, warm daytime weather, and full trail access — daytime highs commonly range from the mid-60s to low 80s°F with crisp nights in the 30s–50s at 6,100 ft. This is peak time for hiking, backcountry day trips, and outstanding stargazing from a tiny four-site campground with minimal light pollution. Crowds are still limited by the campground's small size, but arrive early (first-come, first-served) on weekends to secure a site and remember your AD- Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: November, December, January, February

Peavine Campground is a small, primitive camping facility situated at an elevation of 6,100 feet in the Angeles National Forest. It offers 4 tent sites and limited amenities, focusing on providing a basic camping experience in a natural setting. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water on-site, requiring campers to bring their own water supply. Camping is on a first-come, first-served basis, and an Adventure Pass is required for vehicles parked at the campground.
