Fall offers the best balance of mild daytime temperatures (typically 60–85°F) and cool nights (40–55°F), making hiking and mountain-biking along the Cave Creek riparian corridor comfortable and enjoyable. Riparian foliage around the sycamores peaks in late October–November and wildlife activity is high as animals prepare for winter, so wildlife viewing is at its best. The Civilian Conservation Corps Campground (CCC Campground) includes amenities such as picnic tables and fire rings with cooking grates, which are available at all campsites. Vault toilets are available but there is no potable water. Trash cans are present to ensure the area remains tidy. "Large sycamore trees provide plenty of shade," enhancing the overall camping experience. The campground caters to non-electric standard campsites.
