Best season: fall. Fall delivers the best combination of wildlife activity, low bugs, and solitude — think salmon runs, staging waterfowl, and cottonwoods turning gold. Expect crisp, cool days roughly 30–50°F and long windows of clear weather between Pacific storms, ideal for hiking, wildlife viewing, and boating on calmer days. Crowds are minimal (this is a remote cabin), but be aware of increased hunter presence and active bears during salmon runs — practice food storage and wear blaze orange during big-game/aid Peak months: October, September, November, May
Fall called best: low bugs, wildlife activity, salmon runs and golden cottonwoods; peak season noted.
