No potable water, no showers, no hookups, and highway noise reaches Loops A and B after dark. Light sleepers without earplugs, or anyone arriving late on a summer weekend hoping to grab a spot, will have a rough time on a first-come system with only 20 sites.

<p>Wolf Creek Campground offers great views of the Snake River Canyon. This is the largest campground in the Snake River Canyon with many sites available and it rarely fills, so if you are arriving late in the day this might be your campground. This campground also offers for folks looking to boat on the designated wild and scenic Snake River.</p>
The elevation is 5,500 feet. NOTE: (1) The Granite Entrance Station to Grand Teton National Park is 36.8 miles north of campground. (2) This campground came on-line after the authors' visit. All information was provided by the Teton National Forest, Jackson Ranger District office. The campground with its three unnamed loops, is where Wolf Creek meets the Snake River. Along a ridge above the Snake River in a stand of Lodgepole pine and Douglas fir, the campground is separated from the River by the highway. The newest developed campground along this part of the river, it is naturally sunny. A half-mile trail connects the campground to an overlook but there is no direct access to the Snake River. However, the campground is convenient to a number of raft and kayak put-in locations. Check the fee station bulletin board for interpretive programs. This is bear country; practice safe food storage technique. Use provided bear-proof food storage box.

The parking aprons are gravel. An RV waste station with no potable water is available for no fee at the Chevron gas station, intersection of US Rt. 26/89 and US Rt. 189/191 in Alpine Junction, WY.
From Hoback Junction, WY, take US Rts. 26 West/89 South 15.3 miles to campground on right.

Summer is the play here. Mid-May through mid-September brings mid-60s to mid-70s during the day, 40s and 50s at night. Long daylight stretches into evening for hikes and river time. Fly fishing, boating, and paddling on the Snake all peak in these months. Mid-July through early August draws the heaviest crowds. Campground services shut down after mid-September.

Wolf Creek Campground offers basic amenities and is known for its scenic views of the Snake River Canyon. This campground caters to campers who prefer a simple yet functional environment.
