<p>Sibley Lake Campground is located just off U.S. Highway 14, the Bighorn Scenic Byway, It is the only Bighorn National Forest campground that offers some electrical hookups. Fishing opportunities abound in nearby Sibley Lake and numerous streams. </p>
The elevation is 7,900 ft. The campground is near Sibley Lake and is composed of two loops in a grove of Lodgepole pines. One loop has electric hookups. The Lodgepoles provide lots of shade but the grass understory provides minimal privacy between sites. Medicine Wheel, a National Historic Site, Bald Mountain City Historic Site, and the Burgess Junction Visitor Center, are nearby for interesting day trips. Sibley Lake was constructed by Camp 853 of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) during 1937. The lake was named for Lt. Sibley, leader of a cavalry scouting party which was attacked on July 7, 1876 by Sioux and Cheyenne Indians. Lt. Sibley and his troop of 26 men and a news reporter survived and returned to their main camp.

Sibley Lake is 25 acres. Only non-motorized boats permitted on the lake. Hiking: A small sign identifies a Blue Creek Loop at campground turn off just off US Rt. 14. Call the Tongue River District Ranger's Office for information. Fishing: Brown, Brook and Rainbow trout. There is a wheelchair friendly fishing pier.

The parking aprons are gravel. There is an RV Forest Service waste station 5.4 miles west of campground on US Rt. 14 (Burgess Junction) - donation requested.
From Dayton, WY, take US Rt. 14 west 20.5 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign and go 0.4 miles to campground.

Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, most reliable conditions for camping at 7,900 ft — expect daytime highs typically in the mid-60s to mid-70s °F with crisp nights in the 30s–40s and frequent late-afternoon mountain showers. Trails, boating, and trout fishing are at their peak, wildflowers and green lodgepole stands make the scenery spectacular, and the campground is fully open with accessible facilities. Expect the busiest crowds in July and early August, so book early (reservations open June 23) to sn Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
