Best season: summer. Summer is the best time to visit because the campground, full-hookup sites, and lake boat launches are fully operational and the weather (typical highs around 75–85°F, humid with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms) is ideal for boating, fishing, hiking, and family activities. Long daylight hours and warm water make Burnsville Lake prime for paddling and angling, while the hardwood canopy keeps campsites pleasantly cooler than exposed areas. Expect busiest weekends and higher reservation rates Peak months: July, August, June, May Avoid: September, October, November, December
Summer has full operation of boat launches/amenities and is noted as best season.
