Best season: spring. Spring delivers the biggest payoff — roaring Sol Duc Falls, peak river flows, and the rainforest coming alive with fresh moss, ferns, and wildflowers. Expect daytime highs roughly in the mid-40s to low-60s °F and cooler nights (30s–40s °F), with frequent mist and showers that make the forest glow. Hiking, photography, wildlife viewing and soaking in the hot springs are at their most atmospheric while crowds are still lighter than summer; bring waterproof layers and be ready for muddy trails. Peak months: May, June, July, September Avoid: November, December, January, February
Spring is highlighted as the best season: falls at full roar, lush growth and active wildlife.
