Best season: spring. Spring offers the most comfortable weather and the canyon at its most vibrant — expect daytime highs roughly 60–80°F and chilly nights around 35–50°F. Wildflowers and cottonwood leaf-out make hikes and group meals under the trees especially scenic, and hiking and mountain biking are at their peak without the extreme summer heat. Crowds are moderate to busy on holiday weekends and late April–May, but the temperature and scenery make spring the most rewarding time to reserve the group site. Peak months: April, May, March Avoid: July, August
Spring described as best: 60–80°F days, cottonwoods leafing and wildflowers; reviewers recommend spring.
