Best Time to Camp at Mt. Pinos Campground

Summer arrives gently at this elevation, bringing pleasantly warm days perfect for outdoor adventures, yet the mountain holds onto its alpine character when darkness falls. As sunset paints the peaks, temperatures plummet dramatically into the 40s, reminding visitors to pack that extra layer. The shoulder seasons bring their own drama—unexpected snowflakes might dust your morning coffee in late spring or early fall, adding a touch of winter magic to your mountain escape.
