Best Time to Camp at Reyes Creek Campground

Mother Nature writes her own rules at this mountain hideaway, where summer temperatures can soar into the 90s and occasionally touch 100°F, while winter nights bring crackling frost and bone-chilling cold. Perched high above the valleys, expect temperatures to run about 10 degrees cooler than the nearby towns of Ojai or Maricopa—a welcome relief during scorching summer days. Spring transforms the landscape into a verdant paradise, with snowmelt swelling the creek and wildflowers carpeting the hillsides in brilliant color. Pack layers and prepare for anything; the mountain weather here keeps you guessing.
