Chickamauga Battlefield Group Campground sits on the historic battlefield at 814 feet elevation, surrounded by hardwood deciduous forest. Reserved for organized non-profit youth groups, the campground offers flat, tree-sheltered tent sites with vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. It's 0.45 miles on foot to the Visitor Center through the woods, or 1.5 miles by road.

Natural Features and SceneryThe campground lies beneath a canopy of mature hardwood deciduous trees that shade the flat tent sites. A loop road winds through the forest, each site marked with numbered posts. The surrounding 9,000-acre Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park preserves native woodland where wildlife roams and the understory turns green in spring, making hikes especially rewarding.
