<p>Holly Flats is located along the banks of Bald River and has 15 campsites. Each rustic site has a picnic table, camping pad, grill, and lantern post. It is in a remote location and has excellent fishing and hiking opportunities.</p>
The elevation is 1,800 ft. The campground is rustic, adjacent to Bald River and has a wilderness-like feel to it. It is comprised of hardwoods, pine, Rhododendrons and Mountain Laurel. Some sites could accommodate pop-up tents.
From Tellico Plains, TN, take State Rt. 165 east 14 miles to Holly Flats campground sign (Forest Rt. 126). Turn right onto Rt. 126 (steep, curvy single lane road with few turnouts) and go 1.1 miles to "Y" intersection. Bear left and continue on Rt. 126 for 4.9 miles to campground entrance on the left.

Summer offers the most reliable warm weather and the fullest access to trailheads and streamside fishing at Holly Flats — expect daytime highs around 70–85°F and crisp nights in the mid-50s. Warm weather makes stealthy early-morning and evening fishing productive, and the forest is fully accessible for back-to-basics camping with minimal crowds because sites are remote and first-come, first-served.
