Best season: fall. Fall brings the area's best scenery — mid-to-late October typically delivers peak hardwood color with crisp days (highs around 55–70°F) and cool nights (30s–50s), perfect for hiking and lakeside photography. Leaf-peeping and wildlife viewing are at their peak while bugs and humidity drop, and the lake offers calm paddling and strong fall fishing for bass and bream. Weekdays are pleasantly quiet and weekends see moderate crowds, so plan midweek visits for the most solitude. Peak months: October, September, May, June Avoid: December, January, February, March
Fall is prime: peak hardwood color, mild temps and highlighted as best season in description.
