Fall delivers the park's most striking scenery. Peak foliage and crisp hiking weather arrive September through October, with daytime highs typically 45–65°F and nights in the 30s and 40s. Streams stay cold and clear, so trout fishing and photography are at their best. Ridgeline vistas glow with golds and crimsons. Weekdays are very peaceful. Expect moderate weekend crowds during peak color weeks.
