Natural Features and SceneryThe campground occupies a shaded, wooded slope along Sutton Lake at 922 feet elevation. Tall trees provide cover over most sites, with some campsites positioned close enough to the water for lake views and easy boat access. The surrounding Appalachian foothills create a secluded feel, screening the campground from development and road noise. Primitive sites 71–77 sit especially close to the shore with good shade canopy. The lake itself supports healthy populations of bass and catfish.
