Go if

Horse campers who want a quieter, semi-primitive feel without giving up showers and dump station access. The equestrian loop sits apart from the busier family areas, and the park's bridle trail network connects directly. Book up to six months out, especially spring through fall.

Skip if

Winter rides are a gamble: equestrian site availability shrinks November through March, some facilities close, and the park phone is your best source for what's actually open. Tent-only campers and anyone without a horse have no reason to choose this loop over the main campground
