Ancient, jagged peaks that define the skyline in southwestern Montana. Elk, moose, mule deer, black bears, and grizzlies all move through this district. Moose browse willows along the creek; deer appear most often at dawn and dusk. Mountain lions patrol the high country but rarely show themselves.
