Natural Features and SceneryThe campground occupies a small meadow ringed by lodgepole pines and Douglas firs, with views of nearby peaks through the evergreen canopy. Copper Creek runs close to the sites, fed by snowmelt from the surrounding mountains. Less than half a mile downstream, Copper Creek joins Middle Fork Rock Creek at a confluence visible from some campsites. The landscape here was carved by glaciers and shaped by volcanic forces, leaving jagged ridgelines and U-shaped valleys. Elk and deer frequent the meadow edges at dawn and dusk.
