ElevationPerched at approximately 4,900 feet, the campsite occupies a clearing that opens up like a window onto the surrounding wilderness. From this vantage point, your gaze travels across waves of evergreen forest to the rugged ridgelines that frame the horizon, offering that classic Montana feeling of standing on top of the world while still nestled in the embrace of the mountains.
Natural Features and SceneryDense lodgepole pine and Douglas fir cover the slopes, breaking into alpine meadows and grasslands across the surrounding terrain. Nearby ridges mark the Continental Divide. The area supports elk, deer, black bears, and moose, with grizzlies and wolves in the broader region. Mountain lions move through these mountains but rarely appear. Views stretch across multiple ranges.
