Mill Falls Campground sits along the South Fork Teton River with just four campsites, all tent-friendly but too small for large trailers. The campground is a trailhead into the Bob Marshall Wilderness, with Our Lake. A popular destination for wildlife viewing. Accessible via the South Fork trail. Vault toilets and bear lockers are provided. This is active bear country, so proper food storage isn't optional.
Mill Falls Campground offers primitive camping with minimal facilities. It caters to both tent campers and small RVs but is not suitable for large trailers. There is also a group campsite available.
Weather and SeasonsSummer brings the most reliable access, with daytime highs in the mid-60s to low 70s°F and nights dropping into the 30s–40s°F. Trails clear of deep snow by summer, making backcountry trips and fishing most practical. Spring rains can make access muddy. Autumn turns cold quickly, with occasional showers. Winter brings heavy snow and freezing temperatures that close the road and bury the campground.
Natural Features and SceneryDense coniferous forest shades the campsites, where a shallow creek flows past with enough clarity for water filtration. The South Fork Teton River runs nearby, holding brook, rainbow, and cutthroat trout that require patience to catch. Trails climb toward Our Lake and the surrounding wilderness, where glacial cirques cradle alpine lakes and meadows. Mountain goats navigate the cliffs above, pikas scurry among the talus slopes, and marmots whistle from rocky outcrops. The elevation sits at 5,741 feet.
