Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable warm weather and full access to the Beaverhead River for fishing, riverside camping, and long days of hiking—typical highs are in the mid-60s to upper-70s°F with cool nights in the 30s–50s°F. Water-based activities and trail exploration are at their peak, and the remote BLM setting keeps crowds low compared with nearby state parks, though expect more anglers and weekend visitors in July. Mosquitoes and occasional wildfire or smoke can be factors in mid-to-late-sum Peak months: July, August, June, September
Best time for fishing and hiking; temps in 60s–70s, but mosquitoes are persistent.
