Best season: summer. Summer offers the warmest, driest weather and the fullest access to the remote Long Pines landscape — expect sunny days in the mid-70s to low-90s °F (24–32 °C) with cool nights in the 40s–50s °F (4–13 °C). This is prime time for hiking under the pines, stargazing in the expansive clear skies, wildlife viewing and relaxed picnics at the tiny day-use area; the two-site campground provides exceptional solitude even in peak months. Visitor traffic remains very light compared with more developed camp Peak months: June, July, August, September Avoid: January, February
Summer: warm/dry with clear skies and minimal traffic; ideal for camping and stargazing.
Wickham Gulch Campground provides very basic amenities. It has only two campsites and a day-use picnic area. Accessible facilities include a toilet, but there is no trash pickup or firewood available on-site. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis without a reservation system.
