No potable water on-site means you're filtering or hauling everything in. Car campers can't get here at all, and anyone expecting cell service or a supply run nearby will be caught short.

Summer delivers the most practical conditions, with daytime highs between 65-80°F and nighttime lows in the mid-40s to low-50s. The season runs late April through September, though early summer brings heavy mosquitoes and blackflies. Mid to late summer offers the best balance of warm weather, thawed lakes for paddling, and reduced bug pressure. Long daylight hours extend usable time on trails and water. Spring and early fall mean cooler temperatures and fewer people, but also limited water access if ice lingers or returns early.
Summer temps 65–80°F and site open through summer; best practical season for access.
