Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of mild weather, lower humidity, and vibrant piney-woods color — ideal for hiking, fishing, boating, and exploring the historic sawmill ruins. Expect crisp mornings in the 40s–50s°F and comfortable afternoons in the 60s–70s°F, with far fewer mosquitoes and clearer skies for stargazing. Crowds are generally low to moderate, making it easy to find a quiet campsite, though be aware of deer/hunting seasons in late fall and check local dates before visiting. Peak months: October, November, March, April Avoid: July, August
Overview: 'Best season: fall' with mild temps, lower humidity and vibrant pine-woods color.
