From U.S. 23 turn East onto Route 3. After approximately 3 miles turn onto Route 3051, which merges into Route 302. Route 302 travels along the lake shore.

Best season: summer. Summer offers the best combination of warm water and full access to Dewey Lake’s recreation opportunities — expect daytime highs around 80–90°F with humid evenings in the 60s. Lake activities (swimming, boating, fishing) are at their peak and all campground amenities and boat ramps are typically open, though weekend crowds and boat traffic are common. Pack sun protection, insect repellent and be prepared for frequent afternoon thunderstorms on hot afternoons. Peak months: June, July, August, September Avoid: January, February
