Anglers, boaters, and families who book cabins early. Fishing on Pomona Lake draws consistent praise, kayak and pontoon rentals are available at the marina, and the shore-hugging trails make mornings easy. Fall is the clear sweet spot, with thinner crowds and temps in the 50s-70s

Fall brings the most comfortable camping. September and October see daytime highs from the mid-50s to mid-70s°F with cool nights between 35 and 50°F. This is prime time for hiking, wildlife viewing, and bank fishing as migrating birds pass through and trees show autumn color. Early fall still allows boating and swimming. Crowds thin compared to summer. Summer arrives warm and humid, good for water activities but punctuated by afternoon thunderstorms. Winter is cold and windy across the lake, better suited to campfire gatherings than water sports.

Pomona State Park offers a diverse array of amenities catering to a variety of outdoor activities. These include camping with 142 utility and 200 non-utility campsites, cabins, a comfort station, and improved and primitive camping areas. Additional conveniences within the facility include bathhouses, fire rings, picnic tables, a boat ramp, a marina, and a dump station. The park is equipped with facilities for activities such as hiking, bicycling, bird watching, beachcombing, and more. There is also a retail store for bait, tackle, and seasonal concessions. The park includes several playgrounds, volleyball courts, and a frisbee golf course. Notably, the marina is described by users as 'stocked, clean, and the clerk is super nice,' and there are 'plenty of good spots' for camping.
