Melvern Lake is situated on the eastern edge of Kansas' Flinthills Region. It draws outdoor enthusiasts from a wide range of disciplines. Melvern Lake covers approximately 7,000 acres of water and 18,000 acres of land open for public use. The lake contains five parks with amenities ranging from basic campsites to full hook-ups with 50-amp service.

Turkey Point campground offers a variety of amenities including flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water (seasonal), a dump station, and electric and water hookups available at many campsites. Additional facilities include a boat ramp, dock, fish cleaning station, and three playgrounds. Picnic tables, shelters, and fire rings are available. There is cell phone service, particularly in open areas, and water hookups are present for RV users.
