It's closed right now due to fire damage, so any near-term trip is off the table. Even when open, there's no overnight camping, no potable water confirmed on-site, and no cell coverage information, so it's strictly a day-use stop.

Summer is the most reliable season, with typical highs around 70–85°F and nights dropping to the 40s–50s. Water levels are pleasant for bank fishing, trails are fully thawed, and facilities are open. July and August weekends see the heaviest use, so weekdays or shoulder-season visits offer more solitude. The site closes in late October as temperatures drop and snow becomes likely.
Summer is most reliable: trails thawed, pleasant highs, water good for bank fishing.
