Best season: winter. Winter delivers the biggest upside: cool, dry weather (typical highs in the mid-60s to upper-70s°F, lows in the mid-40s to mid-50s°F) and dramatically fewer mosquitoes, making hiking, biking, wildlife viewing and stargazing far more comfortable. Water levels are often lower and trails firmer, improving access to backcountry sites and fishing spots, while birding and panther tracks are easier to spot. Expect higher visitation across the preserve in winter, but Pink Jeep Campground’s nine sites仍保持 Peak months: January, February, December, March Avoid: August, September
Winter praised as best: cooler temps, mosquitoes nearly disappear; multiple reviews note this.
