Rainbow Lakes Campground is a rustic site located at an elevation of 10,000 feet. The campground is open mid-June through mid-September and is adjacent to the Indian Peaks Wilderness. With 18 first-come, first-served sites, it provides tent pads (14x16 feet), picnic tables, fire grates, and vault toilets. Trash services are available, but campers must bring their own drinking water as there is no potable water or showers on-site. No electricity, hook-ups, or dump stations are provided. "Bathrooms are standard and clean," according to a user review. Firewood and water can be purchased from the camp host for $6 and $2, respectively. Accessibility to the campground may require a high-clearance vehicle due to the challenging 5-mile dirt road.
