Go if

Families or couples who want lake access without roughing it entirely: the on-site marina, beach, and Bar and Grill are all walkable, and the 84-site spread under the pines offers decent screening. Summer is the clear sweet spot at 6,225 ft with 70-80°F days and cold, clear water

Skip if

No pets allowed, full stop. RVs are also turned away. If you're expecting a quiet backcountry feel, holiday weekends pack this place out and you're a 10-minute walk (not a step) from the lake itself.
