No campfires, no on-site water (bring everything you'll drink), vault toilets that can get fragrant in warm weather, and multiple reviewers flag rude or disorganized staff, if that combo sounds exhausting, it probably will be.

Summer delivers the most reliable conditions, with daytime temperatures between 65 and 80°F and nights dropping to the mid-30s to low 50s. Trails clear fully by early summer, and fishing peaks in alpine lakes during July and August. Weekdays see lighter crowds than weekends, when the 12-site capacity fills by morning. Late spring and early fall bring cooler air and fewer visitors. Winter buries the area in snow, with freezing temperatures limiting access to hardy cold-weather campers.
Best season: warm days, trails clear, but busiest time with heavy day-hiker traffic.
