Best season: winter. Winter offers the most comfortable and reliable conditions for group camping, rock climbing, and world-class stargazing — clear, dry days and crisp nights make the granite domes pleasant to explore. Expect daytime highs typically in the 50s–70°F and nighttime lows around 30–45°F, which keeps daytime climbing and hiking comfortable while still requiring warm layers after sunset. Crowds are moderate: popular holiday weekends fill quickly but weekday visits and mid-winter nights are quiet and ideal Peak months: January, February, December, March Avoid: June, July, August
Winter described as most comfortable; good days for climbing and stargazing (50s–70s daytime).
