Go if

Spring campers chasing whale migration and bluff wildflowers will hit this place at its best. The underbridge trail to the beach is a 5-minute walk from most sites, showers and flush toilets are on-site, and the friendly host sells firewood. Bring quarters for the coin-op showers

Skip if

Highway 1 traffic noise reaches most sites after dark, and the hiker/biker area gets it worst. The internal roads have potholes that punish low-clearance vehicles, and bathrooms have gone out of service during and after storm season. Dogs can't use the beach or trails.
