No dogs allowed anywhere in the park, so leave them home. Summer camping here is rough: July mosquitoes are heavy and the six sites are harder to get. Car campers or anyone expecting a picnic table and fire ring will be disappointed.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Fall delivers the most comfortable conditions: cool, clear days with highs between 50–75°F and nights dropping into the 40s. Trails firm up after summer's dust, and mosquito activity declines. The redwood groves stay lush while oaks and madrone shift color subtly. Visitor numbers drop from summer peaks, making the six sites easier to secure. July brings heavy mosquito populations. Winter can push temperatures below freezing with occasional snow dusting the higher elevations.
Spring conditions moderate with reduced mosquito activity and good hiking conditions.
