Go if

Hikers and climbers planning to run Sandy's Canyon Trail or the Vista Loop will get the most out of this spot. Aim for back sites with the cliff views, arrive by mid-morning on fall weekends, and you're set for under $30 a night.

Skip if

Road noise from Lake Mary Road reaches the sites, and the hosts enforce rules strictly enough that some guests have left frustrated. No hookups, no showers, and no dump station also rule it out for self-contained RV travelers who need services.
