Greers Ferry Dam stands at the foot of beautiful Round Mountain in the Ozark Mountains of north-central Arkansas. Numerous parks offer modern camping and recreational opportunities. Marinas provide rental services, food and other supplies and services. Lake fishing is good throughout the year. A trout hatchery furnishes trout for the Little Red River flowing out of the dam. Hiking trails give visitors a beautiful natural view of the lake and its surroundings. Activities on and around Greers Ferry Lake will keep anyone busy.

Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of comfortable weather, spectacular Ozark color, and calm lake conditions for boating and photography. Daytime temperatures typically range from about 55–75°F (cooling to 35–50°F at night), making hikes and shoreline fishing especially pleasant while crowds thin compared with summer. Peak foliage usually arrives mid‑October into early November, and weekdays bring good solitude; note that deer hunting seasons occur in parts of the region in late fall, so wear high Peak months: October, November, September, May
