Best season: summer. Summer delivers the most comfortable weather (daytime highs typically in the mid-50s to low-70s °F / ~12–22 °C) and the longest daylight hours, making it ideal for hiking, exploring Fort Egbert, river viewing and day trips into the surrounding interior. Trails, historic sites in Eagle village, and boat/fishing access are at their peak, and road access/amenities are most reliable. Crowds remain light compared with southcentral Alaska, but June–August is the busiest period at the campground. Peak months: June, July, August, September Avoid: December, January, February
