Best season: summer. Summer offers the clearest, safest access and the longest daylight for hiking and wildlife viewing — expect daytime highs roughly 45–65°F (7–18°C) with frequent cool, wet periods and long daylight (up to ~18–20 hours in June–July). Trails are mostly snow-free, wildflower displays and berry-producing shrubs are at their peak, and bears, moose, and eagles are most active and visible. Crowds are moderate compared with lower-48 parks (weekends will be busier), but visitors should plan for mosquitoes Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: December, January, February
