Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable access, longest daylight, and the fullest range of activities — expect daytime highs around 40–60°F (4–15°C) at 1,750 ft with cool nights. Trails and alpine meadows are at their peak: wildflowers bloom, hiking and backcountry day trips are easiest, and fishing in nearby streams and Resurrection Bay is most productive. Crowds on the Seward corridor are highest in July–August, but the cabin’s remote, high-elevation setting still feels secluded compared with lowland, Peak months: July, August, June, September
Peak season May–Sep: wildflowers, hiking, and improved fishing; cool, foggy days but scenic.

Water from the lakes or streams should be treated or boiled before consumption.
