RVers with rigs up to 40 feet who want full hookups at a price that's hard to argue with. The Fairway View area handles larger setups better than the creekside sites; avoid Sites 11-12 if you need level ground for slide-outs.

No cell signal on any carrier, and reviewers on Verizon describe it as nearly unusable, if you need connectivity for work or emergencies, the isolation here isn't optional. Restroom conditions and staff responsiveness also draw consistent complaints.

Spring is the standout season. Daytime highs run 65-85°F with nights in the 50s, comfortable for hiking and biking. Wildflowers peak and wildlife activity increases after winter. Summer hits 92°F, hot enough that the seasonal pool becomes essential. Holiday weekends draw moderate crowds in spring; summer sees heavier use. Winter days are mild (around 60°F) but evenings drop to the low 40s.
Standout season: 65–85°F, peak wildflowers and increased wildlife activity.

Lockhart State Park offers a range of amenities catering to both day-use visitors and overnight campers. These include hiking trails, bird watching opportunities, a dump station, fishing spots, golf facilities, and a park store. Amenities such as hot showers, restrooms, picnic areas, wildlife viewing areas, and playgrounds are also available. There is a swimming pool accessible during Memorial Day through Labor Day from 12 PM to 7 PM, except Tuesdays. The park features a scenic creek, paved parking areas, and picnic shelters. Many users describe the park as well-maintained and safe, though complaints about the cleanliness of restrooms and showers were noted along with issues of fire ants and poor drainage at some campsites. "Lovely, well-kept little RV campground. Full hookups, good price, great value. Bathroom has a hot shower," said one reviewer, while another mentioned "restrooms are a mess. Staff are rude."
