Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of comfortable temperatures and low humidity — daytime highs typically range from the mid-50s to upper-70s°F (cooling through October into November) with crisp nights in the 40s–50s°F. Water levels are usually good for boating and fishing, migratory birds pass through the marshy shores and hardwood bottoms show their best color, and the pine canopy stays fragrant and pleasant. Crowds thin after Labor Day and again by late October, so you get prime lake access, lo Peak months: October, November, September Avoid: December, January, February
Called the "sweet spot": cooler temps, migratory birds and frequent bald eagle sightings in fall.
