Cell dependence is a dealbreaker here, signal is essentially gone except on high trails. No swimming or fishing, pack-out trash only, and tent sites in tighter clusters can feel close when the park fills on weekends.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Spring brings the best conditions: daytime highs 65-80°F, nights 45-60°F. Trails stay comfortable for hiking and biking. Peak bird migration runs mid-March through mid-June, and bat flights begin in April, continuing through October. Warm evenings draw the bats out in mesmerizing clouds. Weekend crowds pick up during birding and bat season, but weekdays stay quiet. Summer heat can make the rugged terrain less forgiving.
Spring called best: mild temps, wildflowers, peak bird migration and comfortable trails.
