Towing a long rig or wide trailer will be a real headache here. Sites run tight and the drives between them get awkward fast. Add uneven pads and finicky sewer hookup angles, and big rigs can expect a frustrating setup.

Migrating birds, blooming shorelines, and active wildlife make lakeside campsites especially scenic before summer heat and humidity arrive. Expect moderate crowds on holiday weekends and spring break. Fall also brings comfortable temperatures for hiking and fishing. Summer transforms the park into a busy boating destination for families.
