Summer offers the best balance of access and outdoor opportunities: warm, sun-filled days (typically 65–80°F) and crisp mountain nights (often 35–50°F) make hiking, creekside relaxing, and day trips into the Eagle Cap Wilderness ideal. Trails are fully snow-free, the creek is at a pleasant flow from snowmelt for scenic listening and rock-hopping, and the small 12-site campground and rugged access road keep crowds low compared with nearby trailheads.
